daksinAdaksinArAdhyA : Adored by right-and left-hand

DaksinA, by offerings, daksin, by wise men, ArAdhyA, worshipped.

Or, daksina, wise men, adaksina, foolish men; or daksina, those who

are ever desirous of knowing Karmas [religious actions]. For the word

daksina is explained thus in the Sruti, "By knowledge ascetics ascend

to where desires cease, which do not reach the daksinas, [the karmins]

nor foolish men"

Adaksinas, those who know Brahman. The Bh-gitA {VII. 16]:"Four kinds

of good men are worshipping me, O Arjuna, distressed, one desirous of

knowledge [me], seeker after wealth, and wise, O best of BhAratas"

She is worshiped by both Daksinacara and Vamacara (see name

912/savyApasavya-mArgasthA).

Alternatively, She is worshiped by the educated and the uneducated

alike (because everyone worships Her).

Sahasranama, 1962
