Dear Mr.Mukharjee,

Hare Krishna. Please accept the blessings of our Presiding Deities,Sri Sri

Krishna Balarama,Sri Sri Radha Shyamsundar & Sri Sri Gaura Nitai,& our best

wishes.

Thank you for your letter, which I have carefully read.I am sorry I could not

respond earlier as I am in the midst of some hectic travelling

abroad. However,I had been earlier telephonically informed of the matter,&

now I have read your letter as well.

First of all, please accept my deepest & most sincere apologies for what has

happened. As the Temple President of Krishna Balarama Mandir,I accept all

responsibility for these shameful incidents. This is certainly not the way we

want things to be here in our Temple & it is not at all the standard in our

Society.Thank you for bringing all this to my attention.

I will be reaching Vrindavana tomorrow & will immediately look into the

matter in all seriousness & do the needful. Please, therefore give me a few

days to work on this.I will keep you informed of the developments.

Please also convey my apologies to Mr.Sanjib Kumar Basu.I will certainly be

investigating the wedding ring matter as well.

Meanwhile, please feel free to call me on my phone (9837015551)any time from

the 8th June onwards.Or,if you give me your telephone number,I will call you

upon my return.

With apologies once again,& hoping that we will get a chance to serve you &

family & friends, this time so that it will be a pleasant & spiritually

enlivening experience for you.

With warm regards,

Devamrita das

> Dear Prabhuji Mr. Devamrit das ji,

>

> With all due respect and honour, I am forwarding you a letter from my

> friend Sanjib, who is also a life member of ISKCON. I request you to take

> immediate action against the offenders and maintain law and order in your

> society. I am sadly mentioning here that few months back, I too was very

> badly humiliated, in front of twenty people, by the tall receptionist

> named Ramsevak. I had gone to him to request for a change of bed-sheet. He

> refused a change over and when I told him that the one which was already

> there was dirty, he verbally abused me saying that dirty people like me

> come and make the beds dirty. When I told him that I was an Income Tax

> officer he just laughed at me. Not only that my next room was given for

> wrong purposes ( I don’t want to give details due to lack of supportive

> proof now). I tried to meet Mr. Ganpati Das but I was refused a hearing on

> the pretext that he was sick. . Somehow my wife pacified me saying that

> we were in the holy place and we suffer

> for our past misdeeds. We try to forget our profile and position and

> approach the holy places with all humility, when we come to visit the

> Lord. However I am taking the following steps to prevent such occurrences

> in future.

>

> If you initiate no action within one week, within intimation to me, I

> shall be forced to send this letter to the local press in Vrindavan and

> also to the all-major newspapers in the country. Not only that, I shall

> give an appeal in the National Newspapers, at my own cost, requesting all

> the life members of ISKCON to come forward and register their complaints

> against such misbehaviour. A separate forum shall be created on the

> Internet to bring together all the life members of ISKCON. We are life

> members of ISKCON and we deserve some kind of respect, which a normal

> human being expects. WE ARE NOT STREET DOGS. And I am sure many more of

> the life members will take advantage of this forum and come forward to

> register their grievances.

>

> I have already collected the email addresses of all top ISKCON

> Management and shall forward the copy of this mail.

>

> Yours truly,

>

> Niloy Mukharjee

> Letter by Sanjib

> Dear Prabhu,

>

> First of all pls. accept my heartiest greetings and shower of blessings

> of Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Krishna.

>

> Prabhu, I am going to share an incident happened with us in ISKCON,

> Vrindavanon 4th May, 2006 which is beyond my imagination and immortality.

> We are inconceivable too. Neither I have any expectation to acquire the

> thing we lost nor it’s an allegation against anyone. But obviously I

> intend to deliver a message to the higher authority of ISKCON through you

> firmly that they might able to cull the culprits amid devotees of ISKCON

> and at the same time they can protect life patrons and other devotees from

> such type of nuisance in future. And this is my sincere request you to

> please forward this mail to higher authority that they can take some

> appropriate steps upon it. Prabhu, I am extremely sorry to say that we

> have been dejected by front office people (not devotees) of ISKCON,

> Vrindavan while checking out on 4th May, 2006 in evening.

>

> Let me reveal the incident in details :

>

> Myself and my wife, we checked in Vrindavan Guesthouse by 3rd May, 2006

> and checked out on 4th May, 2006 at around 3 p.m. We kept out luggage

> (one V.I.P. suitcase is locked and one small travel bag) in luggage room

> and my wife’s ‘ring’ was kept inside a small pocket of travel bag which

> was not locked and we went out. We came back at around 7.30 p.m. and took

> out our luggage. My wife unzipped the pocket of travel bag and ‘ring’ is

> found missing. We searched everywhere and not found. She spoke to Mr.

> Ramsevak Yadav at reception who advised to keep luggage there and

> strangely he didn’t bother to pay any attention to her and simply ignored

> her. She got shock when another person from front office namely Mr.

> Ashoke Kumar said, “What is the proof that you kept your ring inside the

> travel bag?” And my wife became numb. We went up and spoke to Ganapati

> Das Prabhu who is vice-President of Vrindavan. Now I got shock when he

> started telling us the story about what happens to

> people who goes to Police chowky to lodge a complaint. Further he said

> that the police people starts from the basic like where the ring we got

> from? He was not prepare to listen anything and nullified my wife’s claim.

> And he pronounced that he has been served ISKCON more that last 26 years.

> Finally when my wife said that ISKCON must appoint devotees at front

> desk instead hiring people from outside, he became angry and started

> telling that by wearing ‘dhoti’ and adorning ‘tilaka’ no one becomes

> ‘bhakta’ (devotee). We got another surprise and understood all went vain.

>

> Prabhu, I don’t condemn anyone. That ring is priceless for me as it was

> the wedding ring and that is the only reason she is upset. She is more

> upset that the incident took place in the premises of ISKCON. We have

> visited Mayapur several times and Prabhus whoever we met are so humble,

> helpful and co-operative that I cannot describe in writing here. Prabhu,

> we are emotionally attached with ISKCON and we are acute hurt by people of

> ISKCON management, Vrindavan. Anyway it was Lord Krishna’s wish and

> happened we believe.

>

> I have observed certain things to be shared as my personal views as

> follows :

>

>

> There is only one person Mr. Rakesh Yadav is engaged to carry luggage

> from front office to luggage room and vice-versa. There were no more

> luggage in luggage room on that day during that period. So, it was so

> simple to solve the issue at the same point of time by asking the concern

> person.

>

>

> What kind of attitude Mr. Ashoke Kumar has developed I don’t know. He

> must know that he is serving a spiritual society called ISKCON. Simply he

> cannot make the statement like what’s the proof we have? People are not

> fool. He must be associated with the culture of ISKCON founded by Srila

> Prabhupada. They must have dignity first. Moreover they must be humble,

> helpful and co-operative as basic criteria to serve devotees by sitting at

> front office of ISKCON.

>

>

> Ganapati Prabhu must aware that theft is a crime regardless its value.

> Person alike Ganapati Das Prabhu who has served ISKCON more than 26 years

> as it is his own pronouncement has to be more humble, polite, helpful and

> more co-operative above all. He has to has develop a skill called

> ‘patience’ to listen people. He has to take control on anger. He must

> aware that nothing to be won by nullifying complaints. He has missed an

> opportunity to prove his administrator ship. The issue would have been

> solved by cross examine the concern person and would have nip in the bud

> too. Ganapat Das Prabhu must be knowing that people have less faith on

> police in our country. Will it be accepted by ISKCON if devotees treats

> ‘Prabhus’ as police personnel tomorrow? (people have less respect to

> police) How can he delivers an example which is not demanded by situation

> at all. As a responsible Prabhu of ISKCON whatever he delivers must be

> prophecy. I can understand that by adorning

> ‘tilaka’ only no one becomes devotee, but how can he delivers such a

> statement where Srila Prabhupada said that devotees mush adorn ‘tilaka’.

> And for us how we will recognize devotee? People are sitting at front

> office of ISKCON, Vrindavan without ‘tilaka’, strange!

>

> Anyway I am not much wise as Ganapati Das Prabhu is. May be he is right.

> But then my next query is Srila Prabhupada is wrong?

>

> I have kept my views in front of higher authority of ISKCON through you

> to contemplate and verdict.
