Dear Family,

Namaste!

Thank you for participating in the ten day Siva Sankalpa. It helped me in many ways. A nice

puja to do which I started to do during this period is page 5 - 208 of the Advanced Shiva

Puja book. It took me about an hour.

Verse 5:

1. Sit down in a quiet, conducive and comfortable environment,

2. Contemplate the Supreme Divinity.

3. Look into yourself with the fullness of consciousness

4. See the bondage of the gross world to the soul, and reduce your necessity for action in

the world.

5. Don't allow your thoughts to be bound by karma

6. With the strength of wisdom free your mind from bondage.

7. Experience the fruits of your prarabda karma, the actions performed in the past, the

fruits of which are being experienced in the present

8. And after the past karma is complete, with an attitude of one mind, go to the realms of

Union with the Highest Divinity and remain there.

The first three require preparation, a deep love for Divine, and a deep desire to sit quietly.

I find myself running all the time, in the mind. This says stop running, sit.

The fourth line says do not get involved in unnecessary karma. It reminds me of a quote

from Sri Anandamayi Maa. She says something like: "whatever relationships you have

already started keep them, but do not start new relationships".

Thoughts are also karma and become prarabdha. So we got to be careful what we think.

Phala stuti:

Whoever will read these five verses, and with a still consciousness every day contemplate

the essence of these verses, for him or her the great flame of bondage to objects and

relationships and disruption to the soul's peace will be quickly eradicated..

Thus ends the five verses in praise of spiritual discipline written by Shanakar Acharaya in

700 AD.

Thank you for your kind partipation in this discussion.

with love

srini
