stotrapriyA : Fond of praise.

Stotra, there are six kinds of worldly praises. The great men

say, "Salutation [namaskAra], blessing [Asis], praising the

attainments [siddhAntokti], praising exploits [parAkrama],

rehearsing glory [vibhUti], prayer for prosperity [prArthanaA].

These are the six characteristics of praises"

For example refer to the names :[627] worshipped by three worlds,

[928] recipient of praise, [735] supporter, etc., [79] she is

showering, etc., [658] IcchAsakti, etc.,, [692] bestower of, etc.

are respectively to be taken for namaskAra, etc.

Or, it refers to the Vedic praise, namely rehearsing the attributes

of the gods about whom mantras are sung. Or, stotrAp, the waters

which are to be praised, these [wataers] mean here Devas, pitrs, men

and asuras. The Sruti says, "These are the four waters". In the

Sruti [ChA. Up., V. 3. 3], "In the fifth oblation, the water becomes

men," it is said the water becomes formed of men etc. In another

Sruti [MahA. NArA. Up., XIV. 1] also it said, "All this indeed is

water"

She loves this Sahasranama Stotra! And She loves the songs of praise

which are the Vedas.
