Sat Nam Guru Prem,

 

I would do sun salutations at the beginning, and teach him breath of fire so

he can do stretch pose after that and certainly Sat Kriya. My ideal class

with him would be about 45 minutes. In general, I would give him very

energetic sets, like Nabhi Kriya, with obviously reduced times, all with the

intent of helping him really be able to drop his efforting at the end, in

chavasana. Ask him to really notice what it's like to be relaxed and teach

him that he can get there on his own and that it feels really great. Also,

I would teach him the 1 minute breath as a tool to help him calm down in any

situation. For me, the goal would be to help him feel that he can control

himself.

Any suggestions for kriyas/meditations for a "hyper" 11 year old boy? He's

willling to do yoga.
