Guest guest
Dear Jennifer: I think I mentioned having a student with bipolar disorder in an earlier e-mail. They key is to realize that these problems arise because somewhere along the life of the person they split there personality in order to survive. The pain was too intense to integrate and survival came from disconnecting from the feelings. So they are rarely in touch with their feelings, they've disconnected and live in their mind and sometimes outside of their body. Now my student is an amazing combination where she is able to be in her feelings and feel intensely and cry during class. But back in the mundane life she's back in her mind, and because of this she goes up and down emotionally. So I would suggest the same exercises as for schizophrenia students. But really I find that any Kundalini Yoga Kriya helps because they bring these people back in their body and calms their mind.
