Guest guest
Namaste Mary, My responses to your questions are as follows: 1. I'd like to say that I'm spiritually advanced enough > to understand how to not bump into walls while > eradicating thought, but I'm really not. Could you > explain to me, say, in SMALL words, how I could change > my personal behavior by eradicating thought? I really > am interested, despite the jokes that pop into my mind > when I try to assume bliss consciousness! So say you > were trying to "stay close to your true self", how > would you do that without thought? What do you DO > while waiting to be nourished by the fountain of > creation? Our true Self, the fountain of creation, permeates the entire universe and even other universes that may exist. I believe science is discovering this concept, although derived purely from the cognition of the ancient rishis, when physicists speak of the unified field which is the basis of the structure in the universe. Complicated as it may seem, we as humans have the unique capacity to tap into this natural power by developing our own consciousness. We need to go beyond the basic levels of consciousness, which are the waking, dreaming, and sleeping consciousness. Our daily thoughts are essentially grounded into these levels of consciousness. As such, we are bound or limited to the world of the gunas, the ever changing status of the phenomenal existence. The way to develop our consciousness is to go beyond our thoughts during meditation on a regular basis. Through the use of a mantra, our mind is soothed and rested. As such, one is able follow the bubbles of thoughts to its source, the Self or the unified field. It is only at at this stage that the mind is infused with bliss, the fountain of creation. In coming out of meditation, the mind retains this bliss throughout our daily activities. As such, we are naturally functioning at a different and higher level. The ancient rishis call this samadhi. Through regular practice, the infusion of bliss becomes permanent, thus attaining the level of cosmic consciousness. This is the process in which true change of behaviour is made. The change is made through the power of the unified field, the basis of the entire universe. In retrospect, I am not recommending one becomes mindless in our daily existence. The advantage of eradicating thoughts is only valid during meditation. Through the infusion of bliss consciousness, our daily thoughts sparkle, thus providing creative ideas to solve problems that may exist. Regards, John R. Guest guest
Hello John! Clarity!! Thank you! I get it now. Somehow, I was envisioning a vacant-eyed employee telling an irate employer that he/she was aiding in world peace by channeling the fountain of creation! Since I don't meditate, I forget that half the world does so and probably for good reason. Sort of like flossing for the soul. I shall try it. I've been reading a book lately by the novelist Elizabeth George about how she teaches others to write. In building characters she starts with their "core need" and whichever pathology comes from interference with their core need. She says that their actions should be in line with fulfilling their core need or expressing their pathology. Applying that to myself, I've tried to think 'who am I?' underneath all of my life experiences. So I ask myself when taking actions (usually the not so great actions) whether said actions are in line with 'who I am'. I'm finding it helpful to stop those actions that aren't "me". So that's how I'm using thought to create change or pare away those things in my life that just get in my way. Thanks for the instruction, John. I shall try it!
