Well I have tried. I have resist the temptation but I cant anymore.

Its too much. I just have to let it out once and for all. Am I a

fan? No I am not, but like they say if you cant beat them join them.

Join in the fun and the excitement. You see human drama, you see

disappointment, joy, sadness, tears, endurance, team work, anger,

pain etc. Hey! I am describing life here. This is what life is all

about. You can t be spiritual all the time.

 

Shaktism embrace life to the fullest !!!

 

So take a break and join in the event of the year. Am I having a

gala time? Yes and No.

 

Yes! because I love seeing the boys [ age range between 21 – 46 ]

jumping like little children, screaming ` goal ! goal ! ` even

before the ball get into the goal post. And the amazing thing is

that they all do it in unison. In real time, they can never agree on

anything. And my three year old will always be a three years old.

Now she associate football time as play time. No! because I have to

do all the cooking and the cleaning up. Never expect them to help up

at this time of day. They get transfix in front of the TV watching

the replay over and over again, especially on the goals. This

fascinate me. But I am learning. You want them to do the chores, ask

them before the

match and not after it.

 

What am I talking about [ Devi Bhakta must be thinking : what is

Nora up to this time ] I am talking about Soccer : The world cup. [

smiles ] I am too happy today. Why ? because Korea beat Italy [ the

favourite ] 2-1 last night. I am still an Asian at heart. Korea

fight till the end. Scored the equalizer at the 88th minute and

thereafter the golden goal during the extended time. They never gave

up the fight. Ah! there were screaming of joy and everybody is

celebrating [ including the fanatics here in my place . ….. hey !

you supported Italy earlier …no I did not, you are the one who

supported Italy…. No! you are the one …. Who cares .. Korea !

Korea ! Korea !] The

last time Korea enters the quarter final was in 1966 in England.

 

So this is it. They will stop for few days and start again on

Saturday. I know my place here will be transform into a mini

football stadium. The boys' college friends been calling saying they

miss

my home cook food. Geez ! these kids sure know how to make me happy.

USA vs Germany [ 3 for Germany, 2 for USA ] + 1 for USA

Korea Vs Spain [ 4 for Spain, 1 for Korea ] + 1 for Korea

Turkey vs Senegal [ all for Senegal ] no comment

Brazil vs England [ 2 for brazil, 3 for England ] + 1 for Brazil

 

Post qualifying match discussion :

 

1. Overall : good game, because the favourites are gradually

being kicked out.

France the former champion out

Flamboyant Mexicans : the Americans gave them a rude shock.

Argentina : cant remember what happen to them

Italy : just got their fair share.

Cameroon : they too gone. Need to get their head together.

 

 

2. The team to watch.

USA : not bad for a new comer. Lets see what the Germans have in

store for them.

China : it took them 44 yrs to get into this world cup. This time it

will be another 4 yrs and they will make their presence felt. USA

create football history, Korea did the unexpected, China will equal

these. They will not rest in peace. The dragon is awake.

 

That's it, I promise. No more football talk after this. I am at

peace now? Yes! Yes !.

... in the taxi…on the way to town with a friend.

 

Driver : ya! Lah the team playing this time not bad. All are all

good one !

 

Me : looks like it and new ones too. Nice to see new team .… so who

is your favourite?

 

Driver : England. They good… players all international ….wah! you

football fan too?

 

Me : what to do… Everywhere people talk football. Over dinner table

too football talk. You go for dance drama, the men talk about

football. Not fan also now I have to become fan.. ..but you know

what I like about football… The Unity. Just imagine once in 4 yrs

almost the whole world focus on just one event. Its really nice. If

you look around us : the killing, the wars etc..they're so

depressing. Soccer bring forth such comforting change even though

its only temporarily.

 

Driver : Ya! Ya! U're right.

 

Me : you know what I like to look at most… when somebody score the

goal. Everybody will scream and jump at the same time… nice to watch

and be part of it. The ecstatic stage. Like in a stage of bliss….

What more when the TV will replay the scene over and over again. I

think it's the goal that makes the whole game exciting. [ thinking

to myself : Like getting in orgasmic state. Perhaps the only time I

would say : look forward for The GOAL! No Goal! The whole game so…

anticlimax…. Hahhaahaha.]

 

Driver : Ya! Ya! Laughting out loud.

Game to watch …. Argentina vs Mexico, Portugal vs Holland, Spain vs

France. Italy vs Australia, England vs Equador

 

Expected outcome :

German Vs Sweden : Germans will def win according to their analysis.

England vs Equador : England expected to win. But U never know.

England strong but not consistent. Owen always got himself injured

at the right moment.

Argentina vs Mexico : good fight…. Argentine expected to win.

Italy vs Australia : Italy will def win…
