visAlAksi : Large eyed.

According to PAdma Pr. she is the deity worshipped at Benaras. Though

the word visAla, means BadarikAsrama, here it means NepAlapithA as both

the places are in the HimAlaya regions. BrahmA. and other Prs. say, in

the PIthanyAsa that the NepAlapItha should be meditated upon as

situated in the eyes. Hence is visAla NepAlapItha, aksi, eyes, ie the

eyes of Devi are the NepAlapitha [ in her universal form].

She has beautiful, large eyes (denoting Infinite Vision).
