Guest guest
Shri: Shri Mathe Ramanuja,Maaran aaya - Namaha Dear Shri(or say All Thiruvudaiyaar's) Swaamins Adiyaen's Pranaams. I am forwarding this email from Dr. Ranganathan who is the active force of Shri Vaishnava,Shri Ramanuja philosophy in Toronto. Both idols of two acharyas(Manavala , Vedanta desikan) are being installed in Toronto , Richmond hill temple. Please contact him to establish any group for any Canadian Dollar Donations through Richmond Hill Temple for our sampradaayam. You may also pin him for our sampradaayam. e-mail : n.ranganathan (AT) sympatico (DOT) ca ****************************************************** Pratishtapana of Sri Swami Desikan and Sri Manavala Mamunigal We are happy to inform you of the consecration and installation ceremony (Pratishtapana) of the vigrahams of the two famous Sri Vaishnava Acharyas, namely Swami DEsikan and Sri Manavala Mamunigal at our temple in Richmond Hill. Both these two great Acharyas were responsible for the faithful preservation and transmission of the philosophic teachings of the Azhwars. They represent the two main streams of the Sri Vaishnava philosophic tradition that exist to this day in South India. They are known for their many philosophic and devotional works both in Tamil and Sanskrit. They did a great service to the divine teachings of the Azhwars and Sri Ramanuja. Their preeminence as scholars, teachers and bhaktas is well recognized and admired. That is why they are always included in all traditional Azhwars' sannidhi in all Perumal temples. This is the reason why benedictory verses are chanted for them in all temples every day at the end of aradhana of Perumal. From the time of our Perumal Pratishtai, this tradition has been followed in our temple also. Every Saturday, during Perumal's aradhana many of the devotees in our temple join the Bhattar in chanting these verses. Thus their presence will make our Azhwars sannidhi complete and also add to the Sannidhyam of Perumal (Divine Presence) in our temple. Their icons also will for ever remind us of all the Upakaram (Service) done through the ages to this day by all the great Acharyas in all traditions (including those who came before and after them) to us. Their service is selfless and priceless. All we can do is humbly bow to them and express our gratitude. The consecration and installation (Pratishtapana) of these two Acharya Vigrahams has been scheduled to take place on the 7th and 8th of July 2006. Originally we thought we would have them consecrated during the Annual Azhwars festival but it so happens there will not be sufficient time for this at that time since the Perumal festival finishes on the 14th of Sept and the Azhwars festival will start on the 15th Sept. That is the reason for preponing this Pratishtapana to this earlier date in July. It so happens that Sri PeriAzhwar's thirunakshatram falls on that week as well. So on the morning of the 8th July we will have special Thirumanjanam of both the Acharyas and Sri Peri Azhwar together with Perumal. It would be a great sight since the Azhwars form the integral connection between the two Acharyas despite the differences in their philosophic positions. The announcement with the invitation and the program schedule should be on the web site in a few days. But please treat this as a special invitation to you and your family and friends. It would be great if you could participate in the function and partake of the grace of the Lord, the Azhwars and the Acharyas. The preliminary function for the Pratishtai will be held during three periods beginning the evening of Thursday the 6th July. The final consecration is on Saturday the 8th July morning between 9.00 AM and 12.00 Noon. If you like to sponsor the function, please do so through the temple office. The sponsorship fee is $101.00 for the two days events. Please make sure that you indicate in your cheque that the donation is for Azhwars fund so that the money will be credited to this function. On Thursday evening, some of the children are planning to give a presentation about the two Acharyas in the temple between 7.00 and 8.00 PM. If you are able to attend and encourage the involvement of the children, it will be very much appreciated as well. Sincere thanks and regards. Rangy (Ranganathan).
