Guest guest
Thank you for the inspiring story Parvati. In this case the boon Mata Devi gave appears to be victory over the physical death for a true devotee so that he could complete a seva to her and to humanity. From discussions in Satsang, my sense is that victory over death often is not about the body but that the soul still changes bodies, yet once awake, does not forget again in the process of taking a new body, but returns a realized being to take action in service to humanity, to inspire others toward this goal. It seems the point about how death cannot take a soul absorbed in pure devotion is very important. Pure devotion assures victory over death..we don't forget again who we are. Guest guest
Namaste! Shree Maa always says that we should pray for pure devotion and I think Sadhu Maa has nailed it exactly with her comment... "Pure devotion assures victory over death." Jai Maa! May we all be victorious! , "Sadhu Maa" <sadumaa wrote: > > Thank you for the inspiring story Parvati. > > In this case the boon Mata Devi gave appears to be victory over the physical death for a > true devotee so that he could complete a seva to her and to humanity. Guest guest
The following is how I felt moved to interpret Markandeya Muni's beautiful story, A Mumuksha(a true seeker) wanting knowledge approached Shiva the Guru and asked Him for knowledge. Shiva asked him to choose between worldly knowledge or Sri Vidhya the Highest Knowledge (Shodasi – 16). He chooses Sri Vidhya – to understand or master Sri Vidhya is to become Shiva Himself (conquer death). But out of Shiva's Compassion and Mahadevi's Will he came back from his highest attainment to sing the greatness of Mahadevi for the welfare of his fellowmen. And due to Her never ending Compassion we have had so many Markandeyas (Saints) taking birth, singing Her praises and leading us to Her... Jai Guru! Jai Maa! Jai Swamiji! Jai Sri Ramakrishna! , "parv108" <parv108 wrote: > > Dear All, > > Please read a great story on Markandeya Rishi, the Mrityunjaya mantra and how Markandeya > Muni came to write the Chandi Path. > http://www.shreemaa.org/drupal/taxonomy_menu/55/121 > > Please share your thoughts. >
