The VA, RAMA, says, "That Bhairava, Siva, is said to be CidAkAsa, his own active energy [spandasakti] is known as ManomayI" Or manomayI : mind is the chied instrument. The Sruti [br. Up., IV. 4. 19] : "By mind alone it is to be seen" According to this, manas is the chief instrument in creating self-knowledge. BhAskararAya's Commentary Translated into English by R.
