If one has the capacity to teach, it is a an opportunity to clear the rishi rnam. I remember my teachers telling me that if we do not share the knowledge that has been learnt, we will be bound to take the form of brahma rakshas.) Yes! indeed! ":It cannot be stolen by thieves, Nor can it be taken away by kings. It cannot be divided among brothers and It does not cause a load on your shoulders. If spent, It indeed always keeps growing. The wealth of knowledge is the most superior wealth of all! " Yes- VIdya is the greatest 'dhanam' ( wealth ) and it never decreases by sharing ( kshayati) .. So, keep sharing your knowledge , Lakshmi-ji and you have already won my heart by sharing that nice story on Brahmarakshas - the grandma in me loves stories and i . in turn, love to narrate them to others . Samskritam is a deva bhashai ( divine language) and an attempt in now being made in India also to revive this mother of all languages, Samskritam! one has to read only subbuji's recent post to know how a delightful play on words can make a difference to that word 'atma nivedanam' in the sloka on nine modes of worship ! ( thank you subbuji for that lovely interpretation) on another note in the Kena upanishad, CHAPTER 2 , THE TEACHER says "I know Brahman well," then surely you know but little of Its form; you know only Its form as conditioned by man or by the gods. Therefore Brahman, even now, is worthy of your inquiry. and the The disciple replied " I think I know Brahman. The disciple said: I do not think I know It well, nor do I think I do not know It. He among us who knows the meaning of "Neither do I not know, nor do I know"—knows Brahman." Yes! after reading the wonderful discourse Nirvikalpa samadhi, this is how i feel - 'neither do i not know , nor do i know ' what Nirvikalpa samadhi is ! our newest membwer sudeshiji has asked some interesting questions and has addressed it to gurus in this group, i am all ears! thank you , Vinayakaji on that clarification regarding sri Ramakrishna - YES! TOTAPURI was an advaita acharya under whom Sri Ramakrishna realized 'braHman ' - Yes! Sri Ramakrishna was against hatha yoga for he believed that it was more focussed on body building . Lakshmiji, i do not live in Chennai but my ancestral home is in chennai and i do visit this historic capital city of tamizhnadu at least once every three years ! Thai mozhi patrum , THAIYIN PAASUMUM ENNAI CHENNAI VARUMPADI THHOODUKIRADU! ( THE LOVE FOR MY MOTHER TONGUE AND MY MOTHER ATTRACS ME TO CHENNAI) Love and regards
