Hope these could be of help. You can look into some more sites on Prapanchasara. Regarding the usage of tantra/mantra shastra in Sringeri Mutt, what i have observed is the conduct of regular worship of the Srichakra. It is done by someone who has had the formal upadesha. Further, there are some Srichakra upasakas who conduct elaborate formal worship of Srividya. This includes specific japa, with nyasa, daily worship of the Devi, special worship of Pournami, etc. All this is done with formal initiation from a Senior Srividya Upasaka. This comes under the sattvic part of the tantra sadhana which the Acharyas have approved. Regards, subbu 1.Prapanchasara Tantra Ch 17 (Ed A Avalon) 2. They belong to the Sakta cult. They glorify Sakti as the World-Mother. They dwell on the Sakti (energy) aspect of God and prescribe numerous courses of ritualistic worship of the Divine Mother in various forms. There are seventy-seven Agamas. These are very much like the Puranas in some respects. The texts are usually in the form of dialogues between Siva and Parvati. In some of these, Siva answers the questions put by Parvati, and in others, Parvati answers, Siva questioning. Mahanirvana, Kularnava, Kulasara, Prapanchasara, Tantraraja, Rudra- Yamala, Brahma-Yamala, Vishnu-Yamala and Todala Tantra are the important works. The Agamas teach several occult practices some of which confer powers, while the others bestow knowledge and freedom. Sakti is the creative power of Lord Siva. Saktism is really a supplement to Saivism. Among the existing books on the Agamas, the most famous are the Isvara-Samhita, Ahirbudhnya-Samhita, Sanatkumara-Samhita, Narada- Pancharatra, Spanda-Pradipika and the Mahanirvana-Tantra. 5.The following link contains some articles on Prapanchasara: http://64.233.161.104/search? q=cache:d2iZRYuSQm4J:www.experiencefestival.com/prapanchasara+Prapanch asara&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=
