Dear learned gurus,

I came across this news at the site

http://www.humanrightskerala.com/index.php?

option=com_content&task=view&id=3749&Itemid=5

Basically it tells about the use of " ashtamanjalyaprashnam or

Devaprasnam " at sabarimala temple and how the astrologers could

predict that one woman had entered the temple which is not according

to the rules of the Sabari mala temple. Later one actor from karnataka

accepted she had been to the temple in 1987

I was really astonished by the way the prediction was made by

ashtamanjalyaprashnam.

What actually is ashtamanjalyaprashnam all about and whether it is

practised in places other than kerala.

with regards

manju

Manjuji,

Ashtamangalya prashnam - my two cents info...

it basically deals with divinity and other related aspects of

temple. like whether there is any dosha in the worship methods and

whether puja methods are proper or not..? etc..

normally a kumari with lamp in her hand is asked to enter any one of

the 12 houses of kundli and the house where she enters first is

considered as lagna and accordingly the process continues...

there was good handout sometime back in the magazine sakthi vikatan

and if interested you can ask the vikatan authorities for a copy of

the same...this art is widely practiced in kerala .
