Guest guest
Dear Ramesh, The 11th house has a big role to play in modern/kaliyugi style householder living. For most individuals whom one meets and interacts daily as part of daily life, earnings forms a big part of who they are, their status, their social acceptability, their self-worth and sometimes even what their family thinks of them! Sure there are a few who live in these times but have transgressed or learned to live without being so pressed by societal norms many of which they were conditioned by while growing and so on, but the majority marches to the drums of the 11th. Note also that the 11th house gets a benefic point from each indicator in ashtakavarga and therefore if there is a clustering of planets in a house, the 11th therefrom will get a huge jump in terms of Benefic points. You might be interested in knowing that the 11th house also represents the badhakasthana for the movable signs (particularly in rashi/chara reference -- please follow that up through a bit of personal research). There are many many other points about 11th house that should perhaps go into an article or a book rather than a short forum message but it is a start. Regarding exaltation, and debility, I consider them more as capable of changing the character of the planet or its guna, its quality, just like the pakshabala of moon. Exaltation is akin to purnima, debilitation is like amavasya. Shadbala is perhaps a more comprehensive indicator of numerical or quantitative strength. You will often running into planets that have high or low shadbala while being in exalted or debilitated state. A strong debilitated planet is not a good thing to have as per my consideration. Please note that the basic nature of the planet does not change radically. Exalted shani will not become jupiter, or sun, likewise debilitated venus will not become mars. I am assuming these planets in a state where they are not otherwise influenced by other planets and are as isolated as the kemadruma moon! Often when people ask questions about a single planet or situation in a horoscope, a caveat always goes even without saying. There are relatively few horoscopes with a pure influence or a planet without other influences. So the mercury you may be focusing on while unassociated in the rashi could be forming so many sambandhas or linkages, some being: links with other planets through kendra links with others through vargas links with others through partial aspects through sign aspects through nakshatras through sambandhas through padas through tattwas through the influences on the other sign through argalas etc etc And unfortunately, there is no easy or documented way of figuring out the relative weight of any of these sambandhas in an easy way and must be considered on a case by case basis. I realize this is all quite complex and frustrates most jyotishi students who then tend to blank out other factors somewhat indiscriminately and while seemingly workable in situations, that is not the ideal way to deal with the matter. It is even more difficult to reverse-engineer or describe all of these factors and patterns which the eye and brain quickly note, with practice, sometimes almost at a barely conscious level but could take pages to pen down accurately and faithfully. Guest guest
Dear RR ji, Wonderful way of teaching people. I really liked the way you have put things without quoting "SHASHTRAS".
