From your use of 'diverting' I am presuming that you are diverting to jyotish from tropical/western astrology. If that is the case then Rahu is the same as north node of moon and ketu is south node of moon, widely used in western astrology. Since Jyotish uses the sidereal zodiac as opposed to the seasonal zodiac (tropical), the longitudes would be different in the two systems.
