Any > insights? The duty of the guru is done on behalf of the parampara. In fact the whole parampara is represented by the guru. So, if the guru tells the disciples not to sing "Jaya" to him, it shows that he is seing himself as separate from the parampara. Instead of accepting the worship on their behalf only, he thinks that his disciples are worshiping *him.* Such faulty understanding is certainly duplicitous.
