Brahma and the other three [gods] are the four legs of the couch and SadAsiva is the mattress. The BhairavayAmala says in the BahurUpAsatakaprastAra :"On that great and plesant couch whole pillow is MahesAna, of whose four legs are Brahma, etc, and whose mattress is SadAsiva, reclines the great Tripurasundari, the Great Queen" AcArya also [sau. La., v. 91] :"BrahmA, Hari, Rudra and Isvara became the four legs of your couch and the SadAsiva became the pure white sheet". BhAskararAya's Commentary Translated into English by R.
