Guest guest
Dear Members, I have derived a formula for calculating the distance, in terms of the number of navamsa, of any planet from 1-1 (Mesha-Mesha) navamsa. I am publishing this because I thought some members may be able to use this formula in their software or excel spreadsheet. It works but I feel there has to be a simpler formula which I am still trying to derive. Objective : Given a R-N (R=Rasi, N=Navamsa Rasi), calculate the number of navamsa transgressed from 1-1. For example, let us say Shani is in 12-8 (pisces in rasi chart and scorpio in navamsa chart), then the result is 104 etc. Formula: (R-1)*9 + MOD((N-MOD((R-1)*9,12)+12),12) C.S.Patel in his book 'Navamsa in Astrology' gives 5 methods for calculating eventful years in one's life based on the distance of a planet's navamsa from moon's or ascendant's navamsa. I hope someone would find this useful. With Regards, Pratap
