Guest guest
Please find below , an interesting article : Hare Krishna , A few years back, a friend presented me a copy of `Narayaneeyam' ; and this divine book changed the course of my life . `Narayaneeyam' is the condensation of Srimad Bhagavatam . It's composer is the renowned Sanskrit poet Melpathur Narayana Bhattathiri . He was affected with paralysis and searched for a remedy. Ezhuthachan (The Father of Malayalam poetry ) advised him to start with fish. Normally, this means, prescription of a non-vegetarian diet , which is suicidal for a Brahmin . However, the intelligent Bhattathiri took it in the proper sense and decided, to give an account of all sportive incarnations of Sri Krishna, beginning with the incarnation as fish (Matsya-avatara) , as narrated in the Bhagavatham , in a series of Dasakas ( Groups of ten slokas) . Bhattathiri sat at the feet of Sri Krishna's Deity at Guruvayoor temple to compose a Dasaka everyday ; and recited it to the Lord with great devotion . Bhagavan Krishna eagerly listened to his work daily and responded with occasional comments . Bhagavan even helped him once by giving a vision of the fierce sight of Narasimhavatara, as the poet could not figure it out . After 99 chapters, on the 100th day, Bhagavan Krishna appeared in front of the poet in all His glory . The last chapter is a live narration of this vision of Sri Krishna from head to foot. The poet Bhattathiri was immediately cured of his nagging ailment . Bhagavan Krishna's true nature , philosophy as well as the ideal conduct of His devotee are described in this divine book . Its parayana (reading) confers great benefits . `Narayaneeyam' enables the devotee to visualise and worship Bhagavn Krishna by reading or listening it . It has been practically proved that , faithful daily reciting of `Narayaneeyam', will cure all sorts of ailments, including the deadliest of diseases beyond the reach of medical science . Numerous Krishna-devotees are undergoing the divine treatment through `Narayaneeyam'. Due to Bhagava's mercy , Sri . K.V.Gopalakrishna , the composer of `Narayaneeyam' in English, has joined us .
