Guest guest
a devotee explained to me that the tilak symbol signifies the footprint of Lord Krishna and Tulasi Devi. i see many devotees are marking their forhead with Tilak as symbol of devotion. My 1st question here is why such a pure devotee like Srimate RadhaRani are found without a Tilak?(both picture and deity form) My 2nd question is why Krishna is found with Tilak? He is the Supreme Godhead , why is he wearing that? are there any other meaning to that besides saying its a footprint of Krishna? massa
Guest guest
By coincidence, I got the following request today: I'm writing an article on tilaka and I would like to add more technical information. Can you tell me what the word "tilaka" literally means? I also need to know the literal definition of "urdhva-pundra". In addition, I would like one or two additional points about tilaka, either scriptural quotations or just good ol' granny wisdom about the efficacy of marking the body as a temple of God. Please send any ideas. I would send the draft article, but I should not.
Guest guest
Lemme get this right: someone who doesn't know anything about tilak is writing an article about it? I guess that's okay, huh?
