This is such a wonderful digest; I've not encountered anything else like it. You will find, over the course of time, that there are group sankalpas to participate in as well as traditional festivals that we can each observe, along with Swamiji and Shree Maa and the residents of the Mandir, "according to our capacity," as Swamiji says. Right now there is a year-long Earth Mother Sankalpa. At the beginning of the year, Shree Maa asked us to pray for the welfare of Mother Earth, using the 9 planets Mantras. Even though I am slow as a turtle and may or may not complete the suggested numbers of malas for each planet, this sankalpa, referred to on the digest as EMS, has been the center of my spiritual practice, and my anchor in hard times. You can find all the information on the Devi Mandir (DM) page under files. It is very far down on the list (just so you won't miss it). Here is the link: __ () There is also a weekly prayer club. Participants may submit names for the prayer club, and may also join in by chanting, at any time on Saturday, the Maha Mrtyunjaya Mantra, which we refer to as the MM Mantra, 21 times (or 42, or any multiplication of 21 ... please Nandaji, if I am wrong about this, let Julian know). This mantra alone is a wonderful mantra to use at any time. I am sorry, I just moved, and I can't find anything, including the little card I got when I ordered something from the DM, so I can't provide the words, but there will be someone who can, especially if you join the prayer club. There is an audio clip of this mantra (same link as above, about halfway down the list), with the file name the same as the mantra: Maha Mrtyunjaya Mantra, which you can listen to. Since I am two digests behind, you've probably gotten lots of responses to your request, and some of my suggestions may be simply repeating these. If so, I'm sorry. If not, I'm glad. At the same link as above, there is also a folder, about 2/3 down on the list, "sound clips of some mantras." The great thing about this file is that next to the little musical note thingie, the actual words to the mantra are given (you actually click on the words, not on the notes to hear the mantras). All of these mantras are wonderful. For the time being I seem to have settled on the Durga mantra, but I also use the Ganesha mantra (Om gam ganapatayai namaha) and the Saraswati mantra. Sometimes, in addition to having a primary personal mantra, you might want to use one of these other mantras. For example, Durga can help keep away negative thoughts and feelings of "too much" and "too little." The Ganesh mantra you might want to use in a time of difficulty, since Ganesh is the Remover of Obstacles. I have probably given more information than you really needed, yet I hope this will help acquaint you with the wonderful resources Shree Maa, Swamiji and their band of loving elves have provided, both on the site and on the Shree Maa website (_www.shreemaa.org_ (http://www.shreemaa.org) ).
