....Bhava allows us to "Grok" the feeling, to intuit

the feeling, to unite the feeling, to be at oneness with the feeling, to

attune

to the feeling, until it is ours...

Dear friends ~ okay, I just have to say this. Swamiji never ceases to amaze

me. In the introduction to one of the scriptures he has translated (I think it

may be the Chandi Path, but don't hold me to it ... everything is still in

boxes), Swamiji wrote of the tradition of saints and sages re-translating

ancient texts, to meet the language and understanding of the current generation.

To me this seems a very wise tradition, and now Swamiji has used the word,

"Grok." We all understand this, well, at least those of us who were teens or

young men and women in the 1960's. "Grok" became one of those words that

emcompassed multiple levels of meaning with regard to understanding something ~ an

idea, an event, a belief, a practice. To me it has always represented layer

meanings like "getting" an idea, as well as incorporating and making it our

own; internalizing it; comprehending it at a "gut level;" and comprehending at

all levels. What a great word, and how wonderful of Swamiji to utilize it.

Jai Swamiji ~ Linda
