Guest guest
Hi, I'm a newbie here. I've been practicing yoga for about 4-5 years, but not really too seriously until recently. I am working on creating my own practice at home without an instructor (as I learn of course). I challenged myself in class today during down dog, seeing if I could handle staying up for the alloted time instructed rather than going into child's pose for "breaks." My hamstrings are slightly tight, but I usually don't have too much trouble getting my feet flat on the floor and aligning everything else. However, today the backs of my legs began to tingle badly. It didn't hurt, but it got to the point where I felt the lower half of my body would have gone numb if my instructor hadn't shifted us into child's pose. My legs became a little shaky/shivery too. Am I pushing myself too hard? Any thoughts? Thanks & namaste, Bethany
