Reminder from the Calendar of

/cal

GURU PURNIMA/ASADHA PURNIMA

Tuesday July 11, 2006

All Day

(This event does not repeat.)

Notes:

The day of full moon, Purnima, in the month of Ashadh is traditionally celebrated as Guru Purnima by Hindus. Also known as Vyas Purnima, the day is celebrated in remembrance and veneration to sage Ved Vyas. He is the Adi (original) Guru of the Hindu Dharma, who classified the Vedas, wrote the eighteen Puranas and the Mahabharat. On this day, the Guru is offered Pujan (worship) by the disciples.

Hi All,

May I suggest something. Can we have these event mailed, to the mailing

list, a bit earlier from the day of occurance. This is specially helpful, if

someone wants to do some sadhana. It gives some time for the preprations.

Dear Moderator, Comments?

Other Folks, Comments?

Thanks and Regards

hello DB,

I am glad that you considered the idea. :)

My standard time is 5 or 7 days. This is enough time for myself to prepare

for any fasting or sadhana I have to do.. which includes gathering any

material, preparing myself mentally, getting my Mother and Master's

permission and the rest...

Perhaps I can also help in setting the reminder as it has to be done

manually. Off course only after we decided whats the right amount of time

is.

Thanks and Regards
