As one whose Kuladeiam is Srilami nrisimhan Himself (Parikkal ), and belongs to Sri Ahobiola Mutt,(the presiding deity enjoying the Daily Aradhana of Azhahiasingars), Adiyen would like to add the following: 1. Nrisimhapuram lies between Adanur and Pullapoodhankudi, near Kumbakaonam, This place and the adjoininng Gramams (villages) were donated by One of the Rajas of Sarfoji clan to One of the Azhahiasingars few centuries ago, as Acharya (guru) Kanikkai for having solved a major problem faced by the erestwhile king. 2. Another Ukra Nrisimhar, falling under ThirumokurDivyashetram near Madurai. Guest guest
If it has not already been noted, I wish to add the Narasimhar temple at the foothills of Naamakkal, near Salem, T.N. Namakkal is the seat of a district now and the temple here is very old. Narasimhar is carved out of the wall in the hill and he is magnanimous. There are also other deities carved on the hill and there is an adjoining small Thaayaar sannadhi for Naamagiri Lakshmi. The temple is also noted for the tall Hanumaan Sannadhi with no roof. Hanumaan is situated about 100 meters away from the hill and he is facing Narasimha. Guest guest
Respected all: I am sure one would not forget Mangai Madam, where Thirumangai Azhwar performed Thathiyaaraadhanam & presided over his small kingdom under Chola Rule and also Thirukkurayalur, where he was born. Its Ugra Narasimhar with Sridevi & Bhoodevi at Thirukkurayalur and Veeranarasimhar witrh Sridevi & Bhoodevi at Mangai Madam. There is a very old Yoga Narasimha Temple at Velachery, Chennai right on the main road that leads from Glaxo Junction ( now Tata Motors) to the Vijhayanagar Bus Stand. Guest guest
As swamins quoted, the Nrusimhar at Namakkal is in sitting position with one hand as abhaya hastam another hand resting on HIS thighs. Bhattar while showing aarathi, the stains of blood in red color is visible on the abhaya hastam well. One more thing is that, Nrusimhar is inside the cave of the Namakkal hill (Gugai temple). One can feel the heat generated while standing near Nrusimhar cave. Near to HIS ear, Suryan and Chandran were present to tell about the happenings in the world. Near to them were standing Shiva and Brahma worshipping the great Nrusimhar. Indeed Nrusimhar is so gigantic in sitting posture as if were sitting after Hiranya samharam and giving blessings on right hand. Thayar thirunamam : NAmagiri Thayar.(thanikOil nAchiyAr) Here thayAr is so ...(adiyen have no words to explain about thayar, one has to darshan HER). Only once per year, we can have sEva of thayar thirumanjanam during Panguni Uthiram day. Only opposite to this cave temple, the famous Namakkal AnjanEyar is standing in worshipping position. Hope everyone knows about this Namakkal AnjanEyar. The legend of this shEthram goes like this: Once AnjanEyar took bath in holy Kantagi river, he got one sAlagramam. He wants this to be handed over to Sri Mahalakshmi. He gave that salagramam to thayar. She done penance for years to get tha darshan of Nrusimha avathAram of Lord Sriman Narayan. Lord says that, he will show HIS Nrusimha avatharam in this salagramam. This salagramam grows bigger in size like a hill (which is current Namakkal hill, Nama, kal) and inside that Lord Nrusimhan gave darshan to Sri Mahalakshmi and AnjanEyar. THis shetram lies between Salem - Trichy or Salem - Karur highways (NH7). adiyen, senthil.b Oppiliappan, narayanasamy rathinampillai <samy_n43 wrote: > > > dear aasthigal, pranams, i believe tat i can add, > NAMAKKAL NARASIMHAR to this list, this place is nearer > to salem - 50 kms exactly from salem- nd lies between > salem nd trichy. here also the NARASIMHAR is called > UKKRA NARASIMHAR nd actually the BATTACHARJEE when > describing wil show the deity's right hand which wil b > red indicating blood stains after the ERANIYAN VADHAM. > I believe i am correct. if any thing is erroneous, pl > do forgive. pranams again, - nana > --- ananthachari devanathan chari > <devnath123 wrote: > > > Happy to note your inerest in Srinrisimhashetrams. > > As one whose Kuladeiam is Srilami nrisimhan Himself > > (Parikkal ), and belongs to Sri Ahobiola Mutt,(the > > presiding deity enjoying the Daily Aradhana of > > Azhahiasingars), Adiyen would like to add the > > following: > > 1.
