Guest guest
hi everybody, these days my stress level shows/manifests in high tension in my face/mouth.. I used to press/grind my teeth and a dental splint would help, but now it's not the teeth touching anymore, it's my toungue and lips and cheeks that press towards my teeth and I can't let go. last night I even woke up by the pain and tension that also affects my head and neck and I think even also my hips that become more and more unflexible when for example bowing at the end of the sat nam. does anybody out there have any advice, a yoga set that works on the face or so? I know any kriya that removes/dissolves tension (like the one against sleeping disorders?) might in a way help, but maybe there is something more, or more specific? or a kriya against stress... the stress is I think rather global, I'm a writer and it's hard to make a living, I work a lot and don't know when or if I'll get paid. and there s a lot of insecurity about my professional and therefore personal future. maybe this explains the tensions, too, and leads to an advice anyone can give? thank you so much in advance sat nam veri
Guest guest
Sat Naam, ji Open your mouth, stick out your tongue, and say "aaaahhhh"! Do it any time, this instantly relieves stress you are holding in your body & lowers blood pressure and relaxes the face. from Gurmukh "8 Human Talents" Stretch the jaw by placing your wrist in your mouth, back of hand facing towards you, propping your jaw open. The width of your wrist is supposed to be the same size as your jaw open. It may hurt a little, this is due to tension. Be gentle & practice only a couple times a day. from Masters Touch program You are right to associate tension in the hips w/ your jaw/face tension, they are connected. Spinal flexes (alternating the way you cross your legs), butterfly, and other hip exercises will help tension in the jaw. A meditation good for stress is the Meditation for the Lower Triangle. You can also run a search for TMJ in our archived messages for more advice on your jaw tension. Be well! Om shanthi ranjit k. Guest guest
Dear all, I happen to have the same phenomenon. Strangely my jaw tightness goes > up after meditation.
