Guest guest
Sai Ram, I have collected the most wonderful tips on traveling to Shirdi and Putthaparty. I wish to share with you. I would thank all for this tips, the ones mentioned in this mail, and the ones who's name I forgot to copy (with excuses). I am leaving this Saturday with my family hopefully with the blessing of Swami. When I return, I would like to share my story with you. Sai Ram, may Swami bless you all, Mari-Elise for train travel , the complete information is on this site .. http://www.indianrail.gov.in/ <=%22http://www.indianrail.gov.in/%22> It is advisable to hire a taxi from the Airport itself. 1 Either from the Pre Paid Booth. There you will make the payment before and it is very safe as both the taxi as well as the driver are registered so there is no chance of any problem. To stay in Shirdi is not a problem. You should stay in Sansthan. (Rooms are provided by the Trust at nominal rates.) Donot forget to take meals in the canteen after taking the coupons. Breakfast is also provided. Tea and coffee are served 24 hours in the premises. So it is not a porblem to visit Shirdi. After that you can plan to go to Shani temple. It takes only 3- 4 hours. It is the only temple in the World. From Bombay to Shirdi, the distance will be 220 Kilo Meters to 250 Kilo Meters which will demands 6 to 8 hours journey. If you go in taxi that will be very good for you. You no need to bargain taxi in Bombay. Becareful in bombay. Dont listen outer side people words. Mainly the auto drivers, taxi drivers words........pls dont listen. Try to contact all the time with Airport security only. Pre Paid taxi's will available in bombay airport. The counter also will be inside of the Bombay airport. Ask airport authorities where the counter located inside the airport and then book the taxi. This counter belongs to Government of India. So with governament rates only they will provide the taxi for you. Approximately from Bombay to Shirdi it will be 4000 rupees. I dont know the exact amount. After darshan in shirdi.......if you would like to travel to puttaparthi then 2 ways are there. 1. >From shirdi - You need to travel to Hyderabad. Then in hyderabad, you need to take the train or bus to puttaparthi. (From shirdi you can get bus directly to hyderabad, almost 8 hours journey needed from shirdi to hyderabad) After landing in hyderabad then the journey from hyderabad to puttaparthi demands 10 to 12 hours. 2. >From shirdi - You need to travel to pune (if you take taxi also the fare will be 3000 approximately, total 180 kilo meters distance beteween shirdi to pune). If you can, you can book air ticket from PUNE to BANGALORE. If you come in air craft then the journey will be 1 hour from Pune to Shirdi. OR you can travel in bus or train, but in bus or train, it will take over night journey...approximately 8 hours. Then after reaching bangalore you will get ONLY BUS to Puttparthi from Bangalore. FRom Bangalore to Puttaparthi the journey will be 5 hours. Pl see the Public Relations Officer, whose office is in the temple complex and get permits for Aarathi, which is normally for one time but he may oblige you with two which lets you stay very close to the Baba's Samadhi and Murthy. An experience of a life time. You can also watch the ritual closely. Suggestion to visit Puttaparthy is very good which you must consider seriously. There is a fast train from New Delhi to Prasanthinilayam and back to Delhi which has a stop at Manmad and Kopergao, the two stations from where you go by road to Shirdi. You can get down for 2-3 days as you wish( called break journey) and resume your journey without extra fare to be paid.Nearest airport to Puttaparthy is Bangalore from where regular taxies are available and I believe the direct flights are not opererating these days.It depends on the time at your disposal , preferences and priorities. With love, regards and best wishes. Lakshmi My name is Manoj, Iam working in UAE, with the blessing of Baba we planned to go to Shirdi but from where to begin no idea, but as you all know no one can visit Baba unless he calls you, and leave the rest to him he will take care of you so it happened in our case also. To summarise we happened to visit one of Sai family there we expressed our desire to visit Shirdi to our suprise we were able to get a number of *Sai Sevek Sri Shankarji. *The words are few for me to express here the help, the carring, the support that we got from Shankarji, it was a life time exprience for us. Shankarji arranged his car, arranged the stay, arranged the pass for the darshan for all the four Arathi (what more i can expect...standing in the main mandir along with my family for all the four arathi). Any one who wish to visit Shirdi can take the help of Shankarji. *Shankarji Mobile no: 00919869183840* *Prabhakarji Mobile no: 00919820000085* Shankarji mail Id: *keyeskar (AT) (DOT) co.in* <keyeskar (AT) (DOT) co.in> As for visiting Puttaparthi, I suggest that you can board Karnataka Express( a daily train) at Kopergaon, a distance of 20 kms from Shirdi ( with good connectivity to Shirdi) and get down at Puttaparthy Railway station. The station is known as Sri Satya Sai Prashanthi Nilayam(SSPN) F YOU ARE PLANNING TO TRAVEL FROM SHIRDI TO PUTTARPARTHY THERE IS A DIRECT TRAIN FROM SHIRDI TO PUTTARPARTHY. STATION NAME FROM SHIRDI IS CALLED KOPPERGAON AND YOU CAN GO FROM THERE TO SAI P NILAYAM WHICH IS THE NEAREST STATION TO PUTTARPARTHY.THE TRAIN LEAVES FROM SHIRDI AT ABOUT 5.00PM AND REACHES PUTTARPARTHY THE NEXT MORNING AT ABOUT 9.00 AM. IT IS ADVISABLE TO TAKE SECOND CLASS AC COMPARTMENT AS IT IS QUITE COMFORTABLE.TRAIN FARE IS ABOUT RUPEES 1000 PER PERSON.IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK ME. BEST REGARDS. SAI RAM. NARESH. The journey form Mumbai to Shirdi, (without any halts) is at least six hours. So presuming you leave Mumbai at 3 pm in afternoon, you are not likely to reach Shirdi before 9 pm. Hence if you arrive in mumbai still later than that, my advice to you is stay overnight in Mumbai & leave the next day early morning, so you reach Shirdi by afternoon. For taxi from airport to city there are prepaid taxis (approved by the local transport authority) available at the airport. the fare will depend on the area that you would like to go to. Taxis for Shirdi are available at Dadar TT. (both a/c & non a/c) The fares are more or less standard. You will find out once you reach at dadar. to travel from bombay to shirdi you can go by train upto mannmad and from there u can reach shirdi by bus or taxi it hardly 1.5 hrs journey from manmad to shirdi . the second option is u can go by luxury bus from bombay to shirdi the fare will be Rs.350/ per head accordingly. on reaching shirdi u can comfortably stay in accomodation provided by shirdi sansthan which is very close to Samadhi mandir itself. Om Sai Ram Dear all The buses from Mumbai available from all points. But Most of the buses leaves at Dadar TT East side near Post office. The buses leaves from 5 pm onwards and it takes around 7 hours. So if you leave by 8 pm you will likely to reach Shirdi by early morning. Please find out the reaching time from the buses. Government and Private , Tourisam Departments runs buses. You may alternately go to Nasik and from their you have many buses and also share Taxis to and fro Shirdhi. Being June July August and mid september always it rains and the travel time may take more due to heavy rain, road blocks etc.The total distance will be around 270 km. You may also take a taxi from Mumbai and go to Shirdhi and come back and the taxi may take about 6 hours. ofcourse you think about shirdhi , and he(Sai) will make all arrangments . Sairam Diana and Ankica, It depends on your starting point and mode of travel. If you are travelling from Delhi to PP & Back, take Karnataka Express which has halts at Manmad Junction & Kopargaon(Both are railheads for Shirdi with longer/shorter distance , time of travel 1hr.30min/45min respectively) enroute and you can break journey without extra fare and resume journey again by the same train the next day or day after depending on your stay in Shirdi. You have to make onward & return reservation from Delhi. Wish you a very revarding trip. Barry Please see this link and select a hotel. Hotel Woodlands offers decent and budget accommodation. The travel desk in the hotel can arrange for the travel by taxi to Puttaparthy. You can get yourself dropped for about Rs1600/. ( one way). Or you can travel by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses . The travel by KSRTC air-conditioned Volvo buses cost only Rs160/ per ticket. The hotel may be able to reserve your journey ticket. http://www.karnataka.com/tourism/bangalore/hotels.shtml
