Guest guest
~ Om Namo Narayanaya ~ Dear Prafulla Ji, I don't know whether the weekdays existed or not prior to the british rule in India. However, it is based on solar Calendar (365.25 days) and I have found these remedies working for me and for the other (colleagues, friends, and to the other persons) Like even when we read Shani Chalisa, there comes a line "Peepal Jal Shani Divas Chadawat, Deep Daan de Bahu Sukh Pavat" i.e. if you offer water to peepal tree and light a lamp, you get happiness. So, I just take the saturday as per our Solar Calendar. I am aware that the thithis are calculated using Lunar Calendar. However for day, I think that the solar calendar is correct for calculating weekdays as day and night comes with rotation of sun (now and even before british rule). Guest guest
Dear Sriganeshh, No, I am sure that it is lighting the lamp. As, I regularly go to Shani Mandir and I have also visited Shani Dham in Delhi. The chief priest over there advises you to light the lamp. It is said that you should light the lamp and then show it to shani dev. Moving clockwise through his body from top to bottom and then put the lamp near the peepal tree. I put one lamp in front of Shani Dev and the other near peepal tree. If shani mandir is not there in one's place, one can light a lamp their also. As in the temple where I go, it has both shani moorti as well as peepal tree. I put one lamp for each. Also, the water should be offered to peepal tree (only during day time and not after sunset).
