Dear Balaji,

//the 8th rules chronic ailments, dangers, agonies, accidents,

enemies, conflicts, battles, etc. Can one treat terrorism as a

"chronic ailment" that afflicts a nation? I ask this in light of the

fact that India was running VE-ME-VE-JU during the blasts and

Guru's Moolatrikona falls in the 8th.//

Terrorism is a new style (a cowardly style) of 'war' that is being

waged throughout the entire world. 8th house governs wars, conflicts,

battles, battle-forts, criminal activity and so on...can it be termed

a chronic illness? I suppose it depends upon your perspective, but I

wouldn't class it as such. I would class it either as a dishonourable

(cowardly) war that has surfaced in these troubled times, or

straight-out murderous (criminal) activity.

Note (in independence horoscope) lagnesh Venus, inimicably placed in

3rd house of neighbours/brothers, disposits both Rahu and 8th lord

Jupiter. The descriptions of Rahu, such as, rebellion, revolts,

uproar, invasion, foreigners, etc.. certainly fits the mode of

terrorists.

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

///As far as I know the same principles apply but, of

course, common sense should prevail as we're looking

at a nation rather than an individual.///

That's what I felt too! The nicest thing about

Parasara's principles is their extensible nature,

based upon solid common sense.

In this vein--according to

http://www.jyotishvidya.com/bhavas.htm the 8th rules

chronic ailments, dangers, agonies, accidents,

enemies, conflicts, battles, etc. Can one treat

terrorism as a "chronic ailment" that afflicts a

nation? I ask this in light of the fact that India was

running VE-ME-VE-JU during the blasts and Guru's

Moolatrikona falls in the 8th.
