Guest guest
Dear Richard ji, I was going thro www.shaligram.com website and came across Dwarka Shilas which are white Shilas having number of Chakras all over the Shilas. Are these Chakras are the symbols of Lord Vishnu Sudershan Chakra? I think they have uploaded just few days back, because earlier I had not found Dwarka Shilas on this website. Pl clarify whether Dwarka Shilas are similar to Shaligramas and can we worship them. I am quite curious to know about these Dwarka Shilas and I am quite attracted to few of them. Are they genuine. From where we can collect them, From Dwarka in Gujarat India? I been to Dwarka around 6 months back but could not see any Shilas like that though I viisted number of Shops selling religious items. Also I have seen number of other websites displaying Shaligrama Shilas but they have not displayed and Dwarka Shila. Pl guide me. I am anxiously waiting for your reply. Cordially Yours, Siddharh Misra ---Dear Siddharth, Namaste! The Varaha Purana says that whoever touches a shila with the mark of a Vishnu-cakra will become free of all sins. The Garuda Purana declares that simply the darshana of Sudarshana and other dvaraka-shila fulfils all desires. The Skanda Purana declares that without a doubt if a very sinful man worships a dvaraka-shila with devotion, or even without devotion, he becomes free from all sinful reactions. According to the Dvaraka Mahatmya, a shila marked with cakras coming from Dvaraka is also called cakra-tirtha. Even if this shila is worshipped by a sinful person from a degraded country, the worships still becomes liberated. Guest guest
Dear Sriman, The Dvaraka Shila ONLY comes from Dvaraka. Shalagram Shila comes from Nepal. The message you read was a typo - a mistake in language. Dvaraka Shila is same as Shalagram, and same worship, and same offences. You should request www.shaligram.com to correct this mistake in their advertisement text. And see if they really have one. If so, please get it. Rgds, RSB The www.shaligram.com website says: We accept a small donation to cover the cost of the wages, lodging, boarding and potter / transportation charges paid to the poor villagers who collect and bring them to us. These villagers risk their life in search of rare Dwarka Shilas under very difficult and trying climatic conditions that exist in and around Kali Gandaki river at Muktinath (Himalayas Nepal) to bring these auspicious Dwarka Shilas to all of us. So apparently they are not from Dwarka in Gujarat India, as Siddharth asks. Are they truly Dwarka Shilas then, and does anybody know the actual costs, i.e. donation this website requires? (Is there a better way to obtain one?) I also am attracted to them...so please kindly confirm whether or not they are less susceptible to our occasional (if unintentional) offenses than other Shilas are. Thanks! sacred-objects, Siddharth Mishra <sidhmis wrote: > > Dear Richard ji, > I was going thro www.shaligram.com website and came across Dwarka Shilas which are white Shilas having number of Chakras all over the Shilas. Guest guest
Dear Richard ji, Namaskar and Hare Krishna, Yes indeed it is a typing mistake and we shall get it corrected immediately. We strongly appologise for the mistake. As you have rightly said that Dwarka Shilas are from Dwarka only and Shaligram Shila comes from Gandaki River at Napal. Incidently I been to Dwarka very recently and especially searched for these Shilas as there were several queries from few of the devotees whether we have any Dwarka Shilas available with us and quite a few devotees had sent us the picture of Dwarka Shilas as well from the www.salagram.net site ( Shree Ram Tirtha's site) but I could not find even one anywhere in the whole of Dwarka. The one we have uploaded on our website are the Dwarka Shilas we got from one of the devotee who came to see our Shaligrama exhibition at Chennai. On enquiring, he himself was not really aware whether his father has really brought them from Dwarka. So truely speaking if any devotee gets a chance to visit the Holy city of Dwarka just try to find out if these Dwarka Shilas are really avaiable there. Our search is on to find more Dwarka Shilas and make it available to all devotees who wants to have this Shila placed in their Altar. We once again appologise for the typing error and we shall correct it as soon as possible. Haribol, Rajiv Richard Shaw-Brown <rsbj66 > wrote: Dear Sriman, The Dvaraka Shila ONLY comes from Dvaraka.
