Paying obeisances

It has been described by Srila Prabhupada in his NOD commentary that it is

NOT proper to pay obeisance to others (which would include sannyasis & one's

diksa/siksa guru) in Sri Krsna's temple room and especially in front of the

deity. The onus is on the guru to instruct his disciples in this regard and

if kanistha or madhyama adhikari guru does not do so he would be breaching

sastric etiquette.

However Srila Prabhupada has also described that if an uttama adhikari (pure

devotee) enters the temple room then the pujari may interrupt the arati and

offer obeisance. Srila Prabhupada also allowed his sisyas to wash his feet

and perform gurupuja in front of Bhagavana Sri Krsna, instructing us in

"tadiyanam samacaram".
