Guest guest
Sat nam everyone, I was recommended doing the divine shield meditation in my tantric numerology report as I have a weak aura (soul of 7). I tried it for the first time last night (5mins each side). During the meditation I felt fine and thought I concentrated on the sound quite well but afterwards it left me feeling very spaced out (even after the grounding exercises from transitions to a heart centred world) and a little fearful and paranoid. Is this normal? Is there anything else I can follow the meditation with to ground myself? Also does this meditation balance and open the heart centre? Thanks in advance Otto
Guest guest
Dear Otto, > I was recommended doing the divine shield meditation * Is this the heart shield meditation that is in Transitions to a Heart-Centered World? If it is not I am not sure which one you are talking about, but either way, here are some ideas. in my tantric numerology report as I have a weak aura (soul of 7). I tried it for the first time last night (5mins each side). During the meditation I felt > fine and thought I concentrated on the sound quite well but afterwards it > left me feeling very spaced out (even after the grounding exercises from > transitions to a heart centred world) and a little fearful and paranoid. > Is this normal? * These are normal reactions that relate to a weak aura. Now you know what a weak aura feels like. You can also feel shy, protective and vulnerable. Since this was your first time, you got in touch with where you are beginning. Now you can build from there. Is there anything else I can follow the > meditation with to ground myself? There are many things. One I suggest is the set to strengthten the aura in Transitions. I would do these exercises standing up, which will help with the grounding. The other thing is that you have to sit very quietly and FEEL the energy in your body after the meditation and the yoga. The yoga powerfully activates the whole aura. Meditation raises the energy level to the upper chakras. It expands our non-physical energy, which is great because that helps us become more conscious. The only thing is that this is in fact non-physical energy and it has to be integrated into the body or it just escapes. The other thing is that if we don't integrate it into our body, we experience the symptoms that you mentioned -- ungrounded, spacey, fearful, wanting to escape physical reality, denial, etc. Integrating physical and non-physical energies is a very subtle art and a delicate process that requires cultivating stillness and awareness. Otherwise, we feel good for a moment and then back to the same old thing. After you meditate, sit quietly, be attentive, FEEL your body. Let the non-physical energy integrate into your body. FEEL it. Our job is to spiritualize matter. So feel your body until it resonates at a higher level. The techniques of KYoga and meditation make this all possible. They facilitate our task, but they are not sufficient. Pay attention. Cultivate awareness. Be present to what you feel. Allow what you feel. Feel the flow (or non flow-- resistance) of energy in your body. Awareness and feeling your body are the glue that integrate spirit into form. Build your glue and you will strengthen your aura. Guest guest
Gururattana, Thank you so much for your wise words, I look forward to putting your suggestions into practice. The meditation I was recommended is the 'Meditation for the divine shield', I got the instructions from: http://www.shaktakaur.com/Meditations/Divine%20Shield%20Meditation.htm My experiences with this meditation have been more pleasant since my first attempt. I looked through the archives and found a post that recommended doing sat kriya after the meditation in order to 'claim the power as my own', this has helped. After doing this meditation I tend to feel less shy and there is less feeling of being restricted than usual. It only lasts a short while, but I now have the sense that if I 'keep up' with the meditation and implement your suggestions for integrating the energy then I will be on my way to realising my potential. Thanks again Sat Nam Otto
