Kumari,

What page is this quote from?!!!

Twenty-one years ago the following came to me after meditation:

To stand naked

A soul not shrouded

By guilt

By fear

By Shame

This is the thing my God demands of me.

Dear Sadhu Maa,

the quote was given by Kumar, but I can answer your question.

Ramakrishna makes the statement many times throughout the Gospel.

One place is on page 186 in Swami Nikhilananda's unabridged Gospel.

I know that because I have a concordance for the Gospel.

Ramakrishna (To the devotees): "One cannot be spiritual as long as one

has shame, hatred, or fear."

He speaks of these as being 3 of the 8 fetters which also include

lineage, pride of good conduct, secretiveness, caste, and grief.

then, note on page 598:

Ramakrishna: "There are eight fetters. One cannot get rid of them

all. God keeps one or two so that a man may live in the world and

teach others."

I haven't found the quote in 'Ramakrishna: The Nectar of Eternal

Bliss' although it may be there.

With Love,

Kumari
