Guest guest
The Usual Things The usual things are going on in many places war, hate, and killing of enemies in order to love, protect, and nurture one's own. To inflict punishment on others and yet remain free of consequences is not possible for us as human beings or nations for the revenge that brings joy also brings grief. This is the nature of our suffering that we believe our sorrows are more precious than the tears of our enemies. The story of life is written on the faces of both the watching and the watched while paralysis provides the context for the breaking news stories on the dinner table. It does not help that our fingers cannot touch across the television screens and the eyes cannot meet to offer consolation. Guilt serves as a buffer for one for the other, hope underlies fear. Closure is never at hand in this sphere of duality. May all beings be free from sorrow. Blessings to the cosmos. Harsha --

For example in violence, the greater the violence the greater the response in kind. So many people have memories of great massacres and annihilations, Genghis Khan etc, but they don't realise that it is self meeting self and it will come again, in spades if necessary. 'And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the Law to fail'....Jesus on Karma....Luke XVI:17...........Tony.
Guest guest
Dear Harshaji: Indeed, the past week has seen more than the usual things going on, so much so that I found myself wanting to repost a poem I wrote back when the USA bombed Iraq. Of course, although it was written for that specific reason at the time, my intentions in writing it knew no boundaries or limitations. Now that I have a website and some formatting skills, today I uploaded it to my site so that the prayer is always there. While it may smack of duality and while it may not make its intended recipients feel any better, somehow it soothes my soul. http://www.omshaantih.com/Poetry/One/One.htm Love, Joyce - "Harsha" <harsha (AT) (DOT) com> <>; <NondualitySalon>; <advaitin> Friday, July 21, 2006 9:58 AM Many things are going on > The Usual Things > > The usual things are going on in many places > war, hate, and killing of enemies > in order to love, protect, and nurture one's own. > To inflict punishment on others > and yet remain free of consequences > is not possible for us as human beings or nations > for the revenge that brings joy also brings grief. > This is the nature of our suffering > that we believe our sorrows are more precious > than the tears of our enemies. > > The story of life is written on the faces > of both the watching and the watched > while paralysis provides the context > for the breaking news stories on the dinner table. > It does not help that our fingers cannot touch > across the television screens > and the eyes cannot meet to offer consolation. > Guilt serves as a buffer for one > for the other, hope underlies fear. > Closure is never at hand in this sphere of duality. > > May all beings be free from sorrow. > Blessings to the cosmos. > > Harsha > > -- >
Guest guest
Dear Joyceji, That is very beautifully written, expressed, and presented on your website. Thank you for sharing. You are an artist in combining words and pictures. Guest guest
Dearest Harsha and Lady Joyce, We are infinitely the mind and heart of One. Much the same dialogue is occurring on different groups. Both of 'you' have added grace along with your words. Joyce, how appropriate that the flowers on the background of your poem are one of the first flowers that herald springtime. Until we can say, Namaste to every human being, and every human being returns in kind, we shall not have reached understanding which is the beginning of all healing work. May it begin with me.
