Guest guest
Dear GB, Yes, all religions basically are the revealations of the same one truth. Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Sikhism etc. are not different "Dharmas", rather different expressions of the singular reality. My heart throbs equally for Jesus, Mohammad, Krishna and the great Gurus too. I always take pride that I hail from the town which happens to be the birthplace of Guru Govind Singhji. And which sane person will not bow his head to Guru Nanak ! I statement was in response to a person who had quoted Guru Nanak to justify non-vegetarianism. My response is that non-vegetarian food is inherently 'Tamasik' in nature and hence big hindrance in all-round growth ( which is inclusive of spiritual growth) of human beings.Food is ONE of the factors affecting spiritual growth. We may find individuals who are spiritually developed and still consume non-veg food. This is due to their past actions and deeds ( which span over past lives and the present life). But the non-veg they are consuming definitely increases the 'Tamasik' tendencies. Its a fact of nature. I do not want to take name of any great individual while discussing this topic. But I had to respond to someone else's statements about the Great Guru. I deeply apologise if your or anyone's sentiments are hurt. It would have been better on my part to avoid his name while responding. best regards, Yashendra greatyoga <greatyoga > wrote: Yashendra I am a Sikh and would like you to explain this statement you made about Guru Nanak. I know of very few Hindu and Muslim saints. I do know that Baba Farid spoke equally of Hindus, Muslims and all religions. Thank you GB
