Guest guest
Deart Dr. Shirish Bhate, Dr. Gunjan Thakur & Dr. Ashish Phadke, Can you throw some light on how Ayurveda puts mushrooms in "Tamasik" category ? Does it, in the first place ?......... And if it is Tamasik we know there is no harm in its medicinal use. Even poison can be used as medicine. But what about consuming a Tamasik item in regular diet ? Please enlighten us with the Ayurvedic point of view. regards, Yashendra Caldecott <todd (AT) toddcaldecott (DOT) com> wrote: Fungi represent a very interesting therapeutic modality for the natural physician. The interesting stuff starts with the nature of a fungus itself, which botanists and taxonomists have long puzzled over - is it a plant? is it an animal? In truth, the fungus bears similarities to both types of organisms. All three types of organisms - plants, animals and fungi - are called "eukaryotes", meaning that their cells are comprised of organelles, enclosed in a membrane.
