A part of the verses when translated says-

"Saturn will cause Luck (Bhagyodaya)during transit through

the 9th House (From natal house).......the effects will come to be

felt according to strength or otherwise of the planets concerned.

 

What does the learned members have to say. Have they felt such results

coming in their study of numerous clients horoscopes ?

 

Mention of other planets effects to its own natal placement also has

been mentioned, but I was more interested in Saturn.

Dear Bhaskar ji,

 

In my experience, Firstly - the transit needs to be strictly seen along with natal planet in rashi chart as well in D chart. Planetary results will vary per the association it may have with natal chart, while transiting. and Secondly, more significant rule, if the planet is yoga graha (benefic), then it ill have tendency to deliver positive results. Ofcourse, there will be overriding factors as well (including other transits). Thirdly, the transit planet will give results along the constellation transit.

 

Also, the text book interpretation needs to be seen from modern perspective..

 

Shani per nadi (Deva Keralam), has tendency to torment the results of natal planets (it passes over in D9). I am sure, same rule can be extended to other D charts / rashi chart.

 

In my personal experience, I find - ashtakvarga as much more rationalized approach for transit (KAS System is nice improvized over traditional ashtakvarga rules)

 

Typically speaking shani is said to be good only in 3rd, 6th and 11th house from moon. I read transit from natal moon in D9 (with reasonable success). On a web search, I found good compilation of saturn's transit effects. Let me reproduce it (as I copied the same in word document ...I do not remember the source of contents..but these are not my notes).

Saturn in the 1st house from natal moon will cause: Loss of money fame and health, heart

trouble, fear, enemity with friends and relatives, fear and mental instability. Sadesati

Saturn in the 12th house from natal moon will cause: Loss of reputation, the mental

tension, loss in agriculture, loss of money, loss of near relatives, lack of proper food,

weakness, quarrels at home, illness to spouse and children. Sadesati is on.

Saturn in the 11th house from natal moon will cause: Good health, good income, happiness

through wife and children, peace of mind, desired results, improvement in one's position

and respect.

 

Saturn in the 10th house from natal moon will cause: Sorrow and restlessness, evil deeds,

loss of profession, loss of income and fame and respect.

 

Saturn in the 9th house from natal moon will cause: Illness and sorrow, at times slight

happiness and at times severe sorrow, many troubles to wife and children, trouble from

enemies and officials, fruitless journeys, loss of elders and obstacles in one's religion.

 

Saturn in the 8th house from natal moon will cause: Loss of all undertakings, illness,

waste of money, fear of untimely death and loss of children and relatives.

 

Saturn in the 7th house from natal moon will cause: Illness, fear, sorrow, displacement to

a distant place, loss of money and illness to wife and children.

Saturn in the 6th house from natal moon will cause: Good health wealth and happiness,

conjugal bliss, happiness to relatives, destruction of enemies and gain of a house.
