According to the book Tattva Jnana , p. 57, there are five

principal deities to whom devotion can be offered according

to the traditions of worship. These five are given as Shiva,

Vishnu, Shakti (the divine Mother), Ganesha, and Surya and

the Nine Planets.

What does this mean in practice? As far as I understand it,

it doesn't mean that one should worship only those deities who

are among the five in the list. The Cosmic puja, for example,

includes a puja to Brahma, though Brahma is not in the list.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
