Guest guest
Thank you so much for this nice quote which in itself, establishes that there is indeed a clear line of demarcation between someone 'acting' as or taking up the role of 'spiritual master', and that person who is the actual PURE DEVOTEE, uttama adhikari who is "saksad haritvena" and "rati-keli sidhhyai", and who has been sent directly from Goloka by the Supreme Personality of Godhead to reclaim the fallen souls. It is THAT person to whom Srila Prabhupada refers i this purport. The lack of understanding the difference between these two types of guru is what has led to the great loss of faith and problems that Iskcon has experienced over the past 29 years. ============================================ Antya 5.71 PURPORT One is forbidden to accept the guru, or spiritual master, as an ordinary human being (gurushu nara-matih). When Ramananda Raya spoke to Pradyumna Misra, Pradyumna Misra could understand that Ramananda Raya was not an ordinary human being. A spiritually advanced person who is authorized to act as the spiritual master speaks as the Supreme Personality of Godhead dictates from within. Thus it is not he that is personally speaking. In other words, when a pure devotee or spiritual master speaks, what he says should be accepted as having been directly spoken by the Supreme Personality of Godhead in the parampara system.
