Guest guest
SB 1.8.9 purp. In the dual world everyone is falsely trying to become the master of the world, whereas in the absolute world the Lord is the absolute Lord, and all others are His absolute servitors. NB: Webster's Unabridged Dictionary lists, among others, the following definitions of the word "absolute" 1. free from imperfection; complete; perfect: absolute liberty. 2. not mixed or adulterated; pure: absolute alcohol. 3. complete; outright: an absolute lie; an absolute denial. 4. free from restriction or limitation; not limited in any way: absolute command; absolute freedom. 5. unrestrained or unlimited by a constitution, counterbalancing group, etc., in the exercise of governmental power, esp. when arbitrary or despotic: an absolute monarch. 6. viewed independently; not comparative or relative; ultimate; intrinsic: absolute knowledge. 7. positive; certain: absolute in opinion; absolute evidence. >From this can infer that while remaining in the material world, every living entity is the Lord's absolute servant in the sense of service to Him being every jiva's intrinsic, eternal and certain quality (meanings 6 and 7) while not necessarily complying with the uses 1-5. But it is only after attaining the spiritual world that the soul again becomes an absolute servant in every sense of the term. Hence the spitirual world is called absolute.
