Guest guest
Dear All esp Linda, This morning I tuned into the Devi Mandir audio broadcast. And what a time to tune in - Swamiji was asking for the boons in Chapter 13 . He was asking of the Divine Mother "Always stay in the Devi Mandir and bless those that pray in the Devi Mandir. Bless those that stay in the Devi Mandir. Bless the families of the Devi Mandir" . It is such a wonderful way to begin a morning. So I let the broadcast continue while I went about my morning schedule - and after Swamiji finished the Chandi, he said "Here is a special blessing for (he mentioned a few names and then).... and LINDA and MAYI" .. I was very happy to hear that Linda and knew you would like to know, and hence this post [] Anyways, Swamiji chanted a blessing and then offered a coconut into the fire. He also said that the reason coconut is offered to the fire is because it is the purest offering of nourishment of all creation. And finally, after he finished the homa, he said "Well - you all have a nice day, I am off to answer all your emails" [:x] JAI SWAMIJI !!! Guest guest
Dear Nanda, What are good times to try to listen to the audio broadcasts? I seem to never get anyone when I try to tune in. Thanks. Guest guest
Govindji, They are on Pacific Standard Time (west coast of the USA). At their time, I believe Arti happens around 5:15 or 5:30am, although there were songs to the Divine Mother starting at 4:30am during Navaratri. Swamiji will start chanting the Chandi Path most days (except Sunday) at about 6am. On Sundays other people come to the Temple so the time may vary. Also there was a recent post about time changes due to the current heat wave in California. Shree Maa and devotees also do puja at various alters in the mornings, but I think it is Swamiji that will wear the microphone and be chanting at the fire. There is Arti and Shree Maa's mid-day puja, but I have not heard that she will be wearing the microphone. She does not do this at the fire so will be some distance from the main microphone. Last night he mentioned that today, after the Chandi, he was to chant the Cosmic Puja at 10am. Some days Sriniji does this. In the evenings there is usually a group chanting of a text...perhaps tune in around 6:30pm?? Definiately by 7pm. Often in the evenings Swamiji also has a bit of Satsanga commentary during the evening chanting time. When that is completed (around 8pm?) there will be arti. Sometimes Shree Maa does kirtan in the evenings. Also, there are devotees that chant during the night. I don't think there is a set schedule, but someone seems to everynight. Not sure that they will be wearing the microphone but we should be able to hear them if they are at the fire. All seems to change with special holidays/events. Could someone at the Mandir give us a better schedule? Thanks Jai Maa , "aniruddhan" <aniruddhan wrote: > > Dear Nanda, > > What are good times to try to listen to the audio broadcasts? Guest guest
Dear Govind, If I may add a couple of things to Sadhu Maa's beautiful time line.... Sunday chanting of the Chandi Path has moved to 7am (California time) until the summer heat subsides ( no set date yet). Arati in the evening starts at 8pm except for Saturdays when it starts at 7:30pm. Hope to see you there!
