Guest guest
dear friends akin to the ten commandments given by moses in the Bible, manusmriti also has similar ten commandments of dharma which are not given due weightage and are not followed in letter and spirit: 1. contentment 2. forgiveness 3. control over mind 4. not to steal 5. observance of physical cleanliness 6. acquisition of wisdom through intellect 7. withdrawal of sense organs from their respective pleasures 8. education leading to spiritual uplift 9. truthfulness 10. abstention from anger manu suggests that the above ten commandments shall be observed daily by all persons belonging to all four stages of life (ashramas) even though some of the manusmriti preachings are not logical in the current context, the above ten commandments are general in nature and shall be emulated by one and all. with best wishes pandit arjun
