Guest guest
Namaste Ashutosh, As you well know, the Ashtakavarga system is part of the jyotish tradition which has been carried on by families and gurus in India. This system has a wealth of wisdom and knowledge that can be used to guide people in making important decisions in their lives. To deny such knowledge would not be prudent and advisable. Like all of the principles from the other jyotish systems, the indicators shown in the chart should be balanced with the other mitigating circumstances present in the chart. A jyotishi should make careful and fair assessment of the chart to make a reasonable conclusion about the person's life. In your case, Virgo may have have more than 4 bindus in the Ashtakavarga of the Moon. Thus, even though the bindus present may not be the highest in the entire ashtakavarga, you were able to gain some rewards from the Virgo position of the Moon. If the bindus were less than 4, the negative effects may have been mitigated by the other factors present in the chart. Therefore, it is advisable that a jyotishi checks the indicators from the ashtakavarga system with the other systems in jyotish, such as the Parasari and Jaimini methods or vice versa. Guest guest
Dear John, I have tested astakvarga with reference to both jaimini and parashari systems. It has been a part of jyotish tradition in India, but like so many other meaningless traditions, it has been carried forward unthinkingly. Another good example is the guna-matching which is done when matching horoscopes for marriage. It has been found to be totally baseless, yet it has been carried forward in traditions.
