Guest guest
A woman's perspective. Someone asked, "Why do you speak of Needa in third person?" She will answer by saying, "She was taught that way. Why do you speak of yourself in first person? Are not astrologers in service of Ganesh rather than the other way around and their own petty egos? Is ego first person or third?" But how many hear the whispers of Ganesh as they leap from one rashi to another and never dig deep enough to go beyond surface answers? How many make predictions to someone of blind trust without placing it in context or tempering it with wisdom? How many are blind to the fresh wounds of someone's heart? How many consider their tone of speaking less important than the task of being right? How many according to their own vanity shift blame to the woman at her most vulnerable time? How many add more disappointment or burden when she is already at low point in life because of lost husband or bad prospects for future? How many others on this forum add insult to this injury? So does the source of truth matter more than truth itself? And yet that is what matters to most people. To speak as Needa is to speak of the "I" as another. She is here as Lakshmi so good astrologers reap honorable rewards. She is here as Durga as Mother protector. Her weapons defend the pious against malicious intent or actions. She is here as Saraswati, who teaches the importance of sweet speech and right action toward those who suffer...How many men here have danced with these righteous women? How many astrologers remember that Dhana bhava is not only ancient traditions and oral teachings, but the divine exaltation of poetry and imagination in equal measure? Needa was taught music and dance first! Then jyotish. Tutor say, "Soften heart first...bring your heart to joy... then maybe you become good at jyotish and not hurt others with harsh predictions given at wrong time." How many astrologers have ever read the words of such poets as Rumi, Kabir and Mirabai and softened their selfishness of profession to make room for greater compassion, including for themselves, and become better? Or is the world only divided into "masochists" and "sadists" as self-exalted Ashutosh has proclaimed here? Is this the best men can do? Is this the highest wisdom for a marriage counsellor and the maker or breaker of marriages? When it stings it burns! But the subject was Rumi, Kabir and Mirabai... Kabir was powerful spiritual man and poet. There is famous story from Kabir Book: 'There was a time when fifteen hundred meditators came down from the hills and sat together in a big hall in north India. The number of people doing hard inner work in that century was large. They asked Kabir to read to them, but had not ask Mirabai. Mirabai was of bhakti worship involving heart-love, dancing and feeling, and composed ecstatic bhakti poems; her whole life flowed in the stream of Radha- Krishna intensity. She walked from village to village with holy men singing her poems "for the Dark One," and dancing; she was much loved. Kabir entered the hall, and said, "Where is Mirabai? You know what I see in this hall? I see fifteen hundred male egos." He refused to read until Mirabai came. So someone went for her - she was miles away - and they waited in silence, maybe one day or two. Mirabai at last arrived. She read for thirty-five minutes. At the end of that time it was clear that her bhakti was so much greater than anyone else's in the room, that the gathering broke up, and all the meditators, reminded of how much they had to do, went back to their huts.' How many men on this forum were in that hall that night? Does the source of the truth matter more than the truth itself if it can be confirmed within our heart? What matter then is truth at all? Jiddu Krishamurti talked on this for 80 years, and how many listened? Instead they wanted to turn him into a god! For my beloved sister. Guest guest
Needa, The real test of an astrologer is in predicting. Start predicting and stop criticising, if you are confident enough. Talking about Kabir, Mirabai and all, we in India are taught about them in school textbooks. We have lived on same land where these people lived. Most of the members here are highly educated and literate and well versed in matters of philosophy. You do not need to teach anyone here. If you think something is lacking in this group, fill it with your expertise, do not just point at it and cry out aloud for others to fill it. You clearly sound frustrated. Astrologers are neither MCPs or feminists. Astrologers are simply astrologers. No one with a prejudiced mindset as yours can be a good astrologer.
