Guest guest
Dear AndAl BhakthAs and BhAgavathAs, adiyEn is extremely overwhelmed by seeing lot of articles on the event of Thiruvaadipooram day of Sri AndAl by many scholars. It greatly shows the affection of childrens over their mother (Its natural!!!). Yes, we indeed know that Bhoomi pirAttiyar took birth as Godhai in this earth to recover us from this samsAric ocean. When bhoomi pirAttiyAr (earth) was abducted by asurAs and hidden under the ocean, emperumAn took VarAhavathAram to rescue her. The size of emperumAn during this Varaha avatharam is explained well in "Vishnu puranam" as the Himalaya and mEru mountains became the 'parals' for the 'sathangai' worn by Varaha peruman. EmperumAn grown into such a gigantic size inorder to lift the bhoomi pirAttiyar without shaking or disturbance. The puranam says that not even the sands or drop of water got shaked or disturbed during the lift by emperumAn. Such was the great love HE had on bhoomi pirAttiyar. Under many circumstances emperumAn showed his care and affection over bhoomi pirAttiyAr. 1) Whenever there is threat or problem from external to bhoomi pirAttiyAr, he will rescue her as he done during Varaha avatharam. 2) During pralaya kaalam, emperumAn swallow the entire thing into HIS beautifull stomach. 3) During srushti kaalam, emperumAn spit(vumizhnthu) out the things which were swallowed during pralayam. "moovulagum vundu vumizhtha muthalva..." "aalamaa marathin ilaimEl oru baalaganAi gnaalam yElum undAn.............." - thirupAnAlwar 4) EmperumAn measured with his lotus feet, one feet covering the entire earth - "Ongi ulagalantha utthaman..." After the uththAranam from the ocean, still bhoomi pirAttiyAr was shivering at the laps of Varahar. Now Lord Varahar asked the reason, our pirAttiyAr asked the way for ujjeevanam of jIvAtmAs like us. She told "Swamin, adiyen knows that you will come and rescue me. But help our childrens to know the path and attain at your lotus feet who is dipped under the samsAric ocean". Mother will allways feel for the goodness of her childrens. Varahar tells the way. which is known as "Varaha sarama slokam" which was reflected by Bhoomi pirAttiyAr during her incarnation as Sri AndAl in the thirupaavai pasuram. " ...................thoomalar thoovi thozhudu vaaayinaal paadi, manaththinaal sinthikka...." The Action (Karma), Vaaku , Manam, all these three should be dedicated to emperumAn. THis will eradicate our sins and make way to reach HIM by surrendering at HIS lotus feet. To reflect this, bhoomi pirAttiyAr took avatar as Andal and passed the important message of how to attain salvation from this samsAric world. To show our affection towards HER, lets follow the words from Sri Andal and be good child to HER. AndAl thiruvadigalE saranam: adiyen senthil. Guest guest
Interestingly it is in the VarAha AvathAram, Sri Bhoodevi made Emperuman to bless us with the easiest way of SaraNAgathi and we JeevAthmAs are always indebted to Her.
