Guest guest
Namaste Sri Lakshmiji! Thank you for this offering on Sharangati Tattwa. Lakshmiji, Have you seen the divine posture Of Sri Ranganatha PERUMAAL In Sri RANGAM ? HERE IS AN EXPLANATION From BHATTAR "The two divine hands of Lord Ranganatha as He lies in Srirangam provide refuge to the chetanas. One of his hands points to His crown and states that 'Am I not wearing this for your protection?' - thereby removing the Vaishnava's fear of the weight of the ageless karmas. The other hand points to His divine feet and shows them where to take refuge - similar to a mother feeding her breast into the mouth of her child". but , we bhaktas (including King Solomon and Queen Sheba ) have to take off our crowns ( arrogance , pride etc) and enter the holy shrine of the Lord in a bhava of total surrender ( humbler than the humblest) ! may i please share these two verses from Adi Shankara Bhagvadapada's Sri LAKSHMI NARASIMHA STOTRA ? andhasya me hR^itavivekamahaadhanasya choraiH prabho balibhirindriyanaamadheyaiH | mohaandhakuupakuhare vinipaatitasya lakshhmInR^isiMha mama dehi karAvalambam.h || 11 || O Lord! My great wealth called power of discrimination (viveka) has been stolen away by the powerful thieves called senses. I am blind (without the power of discrimination between things eternal and noneternal). In this condition, I have been pushed into the dark well called delusion. O Lakshminrsimha, provide me the support of Your hands. Next, lakshhmIpate kamalanAbha suresha vishhNo vaikuNTha kR^ishhNa madhusUdana pushhkarAkshha | brahmaNya keshava janArdana vAsudeva lakshhmInR^isiMha mama dehi karAvalambam.h || 13 || O Lord of Lakshmi, from whose navel emanates a lotus, O Lord of gods, O Vishnu, O Vaikuntha, O Krishna, O Madhusudana (slayer of Madhu), O Lotus-eyed One, O Brahmanya (the most exalted knower of Brahman), O Keshava, O Janardana, O Vasudeva, O Lakshmi Nrsimha, do You provide me the support of Your hands! You can read the beautiful translation of this entire stotra by sri Anand Hudli at http://www.avatara.org/nrsimha/prayers/ln-stotra.html However, when you 'surrender' to the God/ess . let it be 'total' Remember that famous incident from Mahabharata where Draupadi sought Sri KRISHNA'S HELP during that famous scene ( cheera haranam) where Dusshasana tried 'disrobing' Draupadi in front of one and all in the royal court ? WELL, LORD kRISHNA TOOK HIS OWN SWEET TIME COMING TO Draupad's R RESCUE ? This is because while Draupadi's one hand was ASKING FOR sri Krishna'S HELP , the other hand was clutching at the saree worried that Dusshasana will Disrobe her ! But only when DRAUPADI PUT UP BOTH HER HANDsS IN a bhava of TOTAL surrender asking for Sri KRISHNA'S DIVINE INTERVENTION, DID LORD KRISHNA HEEDED TO HER PRAYERS AND SUPPLED HER WITH ENDLESS YARDS AND YARDS OF THE SAREE TO SAVE HER HONOR ! YES! while 'surrendering' to the lord . let it be 'total' nor partial ! You surrender with two hands , hwe will help you with His multiple hands! Hari Aum ps btw , thanks for the post on 'varaha' ! Lakshmiji ! , are you aware of THE IMPORTANCE of 'Varahi ' in SREE LALITHAMBIKA'S army ?
