dear friends

having completed the list of various remedies for sun, now let us

discuss on moon.

moon is the karaka of mind and is the lord of water. waxing and

waning is the inherent property of moon and so is the mind of a

human.

if moon is afflicted due to deblitation, placed in a dushthana or

eclipsed due to conjunction with rahu or ketu, following remedies

are recommended:

1. worship lord shiva on a daily basis

2. do abhishekam to lord shiva every monday with gangajal or cow milk

3. wear a sphatik mala

4. wear a pearl mala

5. wear a silver chain, ring or bracelet

6. wear a genuine (uncultured) sea pearl in the ring

7. recite chandra mantras with a sphatik mala

8. worshipping a sphatik shivling (laxminarayan mandir in jammu has

the largest sphatik shivling)

9. at somnath in gujarat, have a dip in the chandrakund and then

have darshan of lord somath (jyotirlinga) on any monday.

10. wear an emulet (yantra) for chandra

11. use silverware at house

12. serve your mother like god and seek her blessings

13. have a holy bath in ganga (or any river or sea) on all poornima

days.

14. drink pure milk in the morning on a daily basis

15. drink enough water daily (hydro therapy)

16. do fasting on mondays

17. rear white coloured pets

18. wear one bead of genuine nepalese two mukh rudraksha

19. wear a mala of himalayan two mukh rudraksha beads

20. keep any crystal item (showpiece or any divine form) on your

workstation.

members may kindly add more remedies to the above list which are all

general in nature.

Dear friends,

Position of moon in various house determines the diety to be

worshiped (if afflicted):

1) 1st house - Gauri

2) 4th house - Gauri

3) 7th houses - Ganga

4) 10th house - Shiva

I do not have the complete list, maybe it will complete in this

discussion.

Also Lal Kitab says -

- one should fast on Mondays and worship Lord Shiva.

- One can also donate Milk , rice or silver.

- Keeping Silver nails in the feet of the bed.

>From other sources that -

- Yellow Pearl is helpful for an afflicted Moon in a fiery rashi.

Sushma/Pranav ji,

Worship of a specific deity, particularly in modern hindu thought and

framework is always a challenge, given the numerous deities that have

been recommended by different sources, and at different times.

Would the role of moon in selecting such a wonderful spiritual focus

be especially relevant for pisces, leo and vrishchika lagnas?

Moon is manas, the mental realm, mental universe as many say. While

all bhakti must start in the mental realm, should we be also looking

at surya the atma-karaka, considered the karaka for soul (arguably!)?

For some reasons the railway analogy swims to the surface as I enjoy

your thoughts. What is more important, my rhetorical question asks:

The station where we board the train (mind) or where we want to go

(soul)? What should be truly our focus? Or should it shift?

We cannot buy a ticket to the destination if we are so enamoured by

it that we do not follow the rules of the place we start our journey

because we need to buy the ticket or face the TC on the train: Saturn

<?>. But if we do not focus on the destination, what would we tell

the ticket seller at the window where we want to go?

Who do you think is the ticket clerk in this analogy? Who do you

think you are buying your ticket to this teertha yaatraa of the

journey of soul from?

Respected Rohini Ji,

I will appreciate if you address me as Pranav, you are older to me

and want to keep the respectful word of ji for people like yourself.

I really liked the way you put across the question with the train

anology. And you brought out some interesting deep rooted basics

with the train analogy.

Before we start We do need to consider other things (including -

AK, Sun , Conjunction of other planets with moon, house placement

etc).

AK - will determine the destination.

Sun - is the Ticket clerk.

However, in your example where we want to go is already laid out in

our horoscope, position of moon/Lagna/AK/... etc.

Personally I think all the remedies listed reach the same place one

way or the other. The question now is what all trains go there and

how do we want to go? Rajdhani shatabdi or a local train?

Let me know your thoughts?

Regards,

Pranav
