Guest guest
Greetings, any suggestions on techniques to use to help overcome a mild anxiety disorder? This is a broad field, so a bit more specifically, it concerns mental "agitation", and unease, and alot of intense energy around the 3rd and 4th chakras. I've been working with the techniques of Kundalini Yoga in different contexts for about 15 years. Kind Thanks Oren
Guest guest
Dear Oren: I haven't seen any answers to your query. Perhaps you have received something offline that answered your question. First, have you checked our archives? We have posted several things regarding anxiety in the past. Please do take a look. Second, I avoid labels such as: "I have anxiety disorder" or "I am bipolar". I'll tell you why. We don't change by looking at what seems wrong with us, we change by focusing on who we wish to be and letting go of the rest. Diagnostics can be useful if someone is about to die and truly wants to live. Then we need to do something quick create some kind of intervention. But even then a lot of people have shown success by simply filling the person with unconditional love and bliss. So it is not that you don't recognize the agitation, but you allow it to move through you as you remind yourself what it is you wish to do or be. A mundane example is this: Imagine being in an exam and half way through the exam you realize that you won't have time to do it all. You start feeling anxiety rising through your whole body. The agitation is such that your mind can't focus. Then you can choose to stay there and worry, or you can notice the agitation and remind yourself that you have this much time to do the best you can with what you know and not worry about the outcome. Others might be in the same situation and overall the teacher will have to grade according to what people have been able to do. In other words, it is not in your hands. But what is in your hands is what you do know and to make sure you give it all you got for the remaining time of the exam period. Then your mind can focus. You can make a choice. Whenever you encounter this feeling of "mild anxiety", just notice what you are reacting to, what your options are, and give up what you don't have control over. If you don't have control over it, it is probably not your responsibility. Allow those whose responsibility it is to do their job for the best of everyone involved including yourself. Trust that we all work together! It is an awesome feeling when you can learn to trust that others are just a part of the larger game you are involved in and that this game is team work. You don't have to know who belongs to this "team". Just rejoice in acknowledging the shared responsibility! Rejoice in your own contributions without judging them. Speaking of contributions! They do not have to be perfect or even right. Whatever you contribute is part of a chain reaction of contributions that the whole team/world around you needs in order to come to the best decision for all. So just contribute with what feels right to you in the moment without concerns of whether it is actually right or wrong or useful or not useful. If you feel moved inwardly, bring it out to the light! Blessings, Awtar
